This proposal seeks to codify part-time faculty members’ right to up to 56 hours of paid sick and safe leave. Also significant, the bargaining committee proposes that the university provide part-time faculty with the same paid family leave benefits that it provides to part-time and full-time non-teaching staff. • Require the university to opt part-time faculty into New York State’s paid family leave law, which provides for 12 weeks of paid leave at 67% pay.
